Sara M. Cagen

Sara M. Cagen (nee Israel) died Oct. 7, 2018. She was 99.

Beloved wife of the late Sam Cagen. Cherished mother of Leslie (Dennis) Wolfman and Stuart (Sheina) Cagen. Loving grandmother of Amy Wolfman, Yehuda (Menucha) Cagen, Yechiel (Ita) Cagen, Daniel (Bracha) Cagen, Kaila (Ezra) Horowitz, Yerachmiel Cagen and Avraham (Yehudis) Cagen and dear great-grandmother of many great-grandchildren. Fond sister of Phillip (the late Bella) Israel. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were Oct. 9 at Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home. Burial at Anshai Lebowitz Cemetery, 326 S. Hawley Road, Milwaukee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to Ovation Chai Point appreciated.

Arthur M. Cohen

Arthur M. Cohen died Oct. 16, 2018. He was 93. 

Beloved husband of Shirley Cohen (nee Gassman). Cherished father of Sally (Douglas Allie) Cohen-Allie. Loving grandfather of Samantha Violet (dear companion Matt Guinard) Allie; dear step-grandfather of Miles Thomas (Maisie) Allie, Scott David Allie and fond step-great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 18 at Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home. Burial was at Mound Zion Cemetery, 14510 W. North Ave., Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Congregation Sinai, Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid, Ovation Communities (Jewish Home and Care Center or Chai Point) or the charity of your choice appreciated. Rabbi David Cohen officiated. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.

Charles German

Charles German died Oct. 6, 2018. He was 97.

Preceded in death by dear siblings, Hilda (the late Bernard) Williams and Max (the late June) German and by his one and only true love, Alice. Survived by loving niece Erika Williams as well as other nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside service held Oct. 10 at Temple Menorah Ever-Rest Cemetery, 9548 W. Beloit Rd., Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice appreciated.

Mildred Hamilton

Mildred Hamilton (nee Blinder) died on Sept. 28, 2018 in Portland, Oregon. She was 101.

She was born on July 13, 1917 in Appleton. She was the daughter of Louis and Sarah (nee Zeiger) Blinder and beloved wife of the late Donald H. Hamilton for 65 years. Mildred is survived by her loving family; her sons Thomas (Jacqueline Martelle) of New York and Peter (Margy Christy) of Portland, Oregon, grandsons Jordan and Brett (Nicole Trueblood) Christy-Hamilton, and her great-granddaughter, Bernadette, who gave her so much joy. Further survived by brother Alvin (Ruth) Blinder and sister-in-law Bernice (the late Sidney) Blinder as well as a niece, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends and other relatives. Active in the Milwaukee Jewish community for 70 years, Mildred and Donald Hamilton were among the 14 original founding families of Congregation Shalom, and they were members of Congregation Emanu-El for over 50 years. With her gentle yet expressive speaking voice, Mildred recorded audio textbooks for the blind as a volunteer for ORT. The family wishes to thank all those who have shown their concern and given counsel during this time. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Peggy B. Prince

Peggy B. Prince died Oct. 5, 2018. She was 66.

Cherished mother of Robert N. Halperin and Scott E. Halperin. Loving sister of Virginia Prince. Further survived by her dear significant other Roger Fleming, many loving relatives and dear friends.

A graveside service was held on Oct. 8 at Greenwood Cemetery, 2615 W. Cleveland Ave., Milwaukee. Carol June Rittberg

Carol June Rittberg of Glendale died Sept. 13, 2018. She was 92.

Carol was born Sept. 6, 1926 and graduated from Shorewood High School in 1944. She enjoyed card making and crafts.

Survived by sons Alan and Larry Rittberg. Carol was predeceased by husband Samuel in 1997.

Burial at Ever-Rest Cemetery on Sept. 17. Memorial contributions may be sent to Symphony of Glendale, 6263 N. Green Bay Ave., WI 53209.

Lawrence Rittberg

Lawrence Rittberg died Sept. 28, 2018. He was 75.

Beloved husband of Eileen Rittberg (nee Hettman). Loving father of Lynn, Joel (Jamie) and Brian Rittberg. Proud grandfather of Alexis Rittberg. Dear brother of Harvey Rittberg. Further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

Ira Shteyn died Oct. 10, 2018. He was 81.

Beloved wife of the late Lev Markman. Cherished mother of the late Gennady (Yelena Bakman) Markman. Adoring grandmother of Felix Markman. Dear aunt of Sima (Michael Lenderman) Bruk. Fond sister of the late Alexander (Inessa) Shteyn. Further survived by other loving relatives and dear friends.

Carol S. Ugent (nee Sametz) died Oct. 1, 2018 at age 95.

Beloved wife of the late Abraham J. Ugent. Dear mother of Warren (Anita) Ugent, Rodney (Dee Dee) Ugent, Daniel (Audrey) Ugent, and Lori (Kevin) Nashban. Loving grandmother of Cari, Jason (Kari), Andrea and Justin Ugent and Chad (Baysa Tova) and Carly Nashban. Proud great-grandmother of Crosby, Reef and Aleni Ugent and Bayla and Naftali Nashban. Dear sister-in-law of Laona (the late Donald) Sametz, Shirley (the late Harold) Craig, Beverly (the late Aaron) Ugent, Lupe (Andrew) Ewert, the late David Ugent and the late Ruth Knight-Lippert. Further survived by other dear relatives and many good friends.
