Dolores Cohen

Dolores Cohen (nee Weiss) died on Sept. 19, 2018 at age 87 after a brave struggle against cancer. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jill Cohen; grandson Dan (Marisa) Nathan; step great-granddaughter Maya Mannella-Weston; great-grandson Julian Nathan; and dear friend and companion Shelley Burchman. She will be further missed by the families of her beloved late cousins, Eddie and Leon Zukrow.

Graveside funeral service was held on Sunday, Sept. 23 at Agudas Achim Cemetery, 3690 E. College Ave., Cudahy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Milwaukee Jewish Federation appreciated. Rabbi Len Zukrow officiated. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.          

Irvin A. Harris

Irvin A. Harris of Milwaukee died Sept. 9, 2018. He was 94.

Irvin was born June 18, 1924 and graduated from West Division High School in 1942. A member of Beth Israel Congregation, he worked as a wine and spirits salesman. He was employed by Mogen David.

He was predeceased by wife Sarah Becker Harris in 2012. He is survived by daughters Nancy Harris, Jeanne Harris (Brian Broussard), Judy Harris and son Jack Harris (Dr. Deborah Larkey).

Burial was at Second Home Cemetery on Sept. 14, with Rabbi Ron Shapiro. The home was Blane Goodman. Memorial contributions are welcome to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Etta Ottenstein

Etta (nee Grodsky) Ottenstein died Aug. 22, 2018 at the age of 87.

Beloved wife of the late Barry Ottenstein. Cherished mother of Jonathan (Chana), Jeremy (Aviva), Joel Ottenstein and Naomi Morris. Further survived by granddaughter, Tamar Morris, as well as 10 other grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Second Home Cemetery, Milwaukee. Rabbi Levi Emmer officiated. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.

Susan Reba

Susan (Nee Schumacher) Reba died Aug. 24, 2018 at the age of 91.

Susan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, the late Henry Reba. She is survived by her children and their families: Michael Reba (Kevin Atkinson), Zelda (Terry) Krueger; grandchildren: Eric Krueger, Shawn (Rachel) Krueger; and great-grandchildren: Jackson Krueger, Bradley Krueger and Evan Pulda. She is further survived by other family members and friends.

The family offers special thanks to the staff at Chai Point and Ovation Jewish Home for the wonderful, loving care provided to Susan. Graveside funeral services were held on Aug. 26 at Agudas Achim Cemetery, Cudahy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum appreciated.  Rabbi Levi Emmer officiated.  Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.

Howard Silberg

Howard Silberg of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Milwaukee, died Sept. 5, 2018 at the age of 78.

Beloved son of the late Sam and the late Lillian (nee Adland) Silberg.  Fond brother of Ronald Silberg.  Further survived by his dear cousins Rhoda (the late William) Baumgarten, Shirley (the late Murray) Denemark, Marlene Adland (Gerald) Melnick, Russ (Merzy) Eisenberg, Dr. Robert (the late Barbara) Eisenberg, Sandy Adland and Howard’s close friends John Famularo and Marlene Kaplan as well as other relatives and friends.

Graveside service held on Sept. 12 at 2 p.m. at Second Home Cemetery, 3705 S. 43rd St., Milwaukee. Memorial donations would be appreciated to Opera Omaha; Omaha Symphony Association; Friends of Art, Omaha; Joslyn Art Museum; or the American Cancer Society – Omaha. Rabbi Ron Shapiro officiated. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.

Clara Zukrow

Clara Zukrow (nee Wohl) died Sept. 8, 2018 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Leon Zukrow. Dear mother of Stuart J. Zukrow of Sterling Heights, Michigan; Monica R. Zukrow of Chico, California; and Andrew S. (Kristine) Zukrow of Glendale. Dear grandmother of Leslie and Lucas Zukrow. Further survived by other loving relatives and dear friends. A service to celebrate Clara’s life was held on Sunday, Sept. 23 at Goodman-Bensman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to Literacy Services of WI (LiteracyServices.org) or Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun (Ceebj.org) appreciated.  Rabbi Leonard Zukrow officiated. Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home assisted the family.
