Lippow, a community advocate, dies at 42

Gary Lippow, a 42-year-old community advocate, died July 12.

Lippow was a longtime leader for the Jewish Community Relations Council of Milwaukee Jewish Federation and a passionate advocate for justice, according to the JCRC. He died unexpectedly.

Lippow was deeply devoted to his family and to his community, demonstrating that devotion through many hours of service, including volunteer leadership on the Glendale-River Hills School Board, Congregation Shalom board, and JCRC board. He approached issues with the rare and valuable combination of sharp mind, yielding heart and relentless humility, according to a JCRC statement.

Beloved husband of Lindsay Rocamora. Dear father of Isaac and Emma Lippow. Loving son of Jeffrey (Susan) Lippow and Marlis (Bruce Rubly) Lippow. Fond brother of Shaun (Meg) Lippow. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held July 17 at Congregation Shalom. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery.
