Two classes offered at Waukesha synagogue

Cantor Deborah Martin, the spiritual leader at Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha, will be teaching two classes this summer.

Cantillation Class:  Students, who must know Hebrew before beginning the class, learn how to easily learn a Torah portion by themselves, and students will work on the chant for the Veahavta in the class (it uses Torah cantillations). There are 10 sessions, and the dates are Sundays at 6:30 p.m. over the summer. The class is open to the public. There will be a charge of $100 (includes the book and CD worth $30 in the fee) for CEEW members, and $125 for non-members.  At least six students are needed to make the class work.  RSVP to Cantor Martin at SpiritualLeader@WaukeshaTemple.org.

Exploring Judaism Class:  A basic understanding of Judaism is offered on Sundays at 4 p.m., on July 15, July 22, and July 29 and Aug. 5. The cost  is $25 for CEEW members and $40 for non-members.  The class is open to the public. RSVP by July 8 to Cantor Martin at spiritualleader@waukeshatemple.org.
