MILWAUKEE – The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center announced the recipients of its three highest annual honors: the Joe E. Smith Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service, the Yachad Award for Community Partnership, and the Esther Leah Ritz Emerging Leaders Award.
The 2018 Yachad Award, presented to a community partner who supports the mission, operations and values of the JCC, will be awarded to Northwestern Mutual in recognition of its ongoing support of the JCC’s efforts in community service, special needs and wellness.
The 2018 Joe E. Smith Award for Distinguished Volunteer Service will be presented to Alicia Sadoff, past chair of the JCC Board of Directors and longtime community leader and advocate.
Howie Siegal and Jessica Vroman will be named Esther Leah Ritz Emerging JCC Leaders and will join a national cohort of young leaders in facilitated programs with the Jewish Community Centers of North America.
The awards for Northwestern Mutual, Sadoff, Siegal, and Vroman will be presented at the JCC’s annual meeting in June.
“It is a great privilege to honor the contributions of the individuals and organizations who make Milwaukee an exceptional place to live and work,” said JCC President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Shapiro.
The JCC’s annual meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6 in the Daniel M. Soref Community Hall at the JCC.
