Glendale synagogue offers tuition-free education

The Jewish Proverb “Educate a child according to their way so that when they grow older they will not depart from their path” is coming to life at Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid thanks to a very generous anonymous donation.

The synagogue’s administration and Board of Trustees recently sent a letter to congregants sharing the news that an anonymous donation will cover the cost of religious education for all students in the Tuesday, Sunday and Kulanu (teen) programs. This donation is effective beginning in September and will continue for the next five years.

“We are extremely grateful to this donor who understands the importance of a Jewish education. This act of tzedakah enables CBINT to pass our Jewish faith and traditions from generation to generation,” said CBINT Education Director Jennifer Saber.

“This donor clearly exhibits a profound knowledge of the impact a Jewish education has on a Jewish child and his/her entire family,” Rabbi Jacob Herber added. “Their support of CBINT’s Religious education not only allows students to attend our religious school tuition-free, it helps to engage families in synagogue life which in turn builds our Kehillah (community).
