Bernard Ottenstein

Bernard Ottenstein of Milwaukee, a member of the Jewish War Veterans who enjoyed opera, art, golfing and swimming, died Sept. 4, 2016. He was 92.

His spouse, who is deceased, was Ethel Ottenstein.

He was born Feb. 26, 1924 and graduated from North Division High School. He was a DDS, having graduated from the Marquette University School of Dentistry. He was a member of Alpha Omega dental fraternity. He enjoyed music ­– especially opera – and movies and languages.

Survivors include children Leslie (Rick) Paler, Jim (Pam) Ottenstein, Amy (Harvey) Zwyer, plus six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mound Zion Cemetery in Brookfield was the place of burial, on Sept. 7, 2016. Blane Goodman Funeral Services was the home.

Rabbis Noah Chertkoff, Ron Shapiro and Rachel Marks, plus Cantor Karen Berman, all officiated.

Memorials may be sent to the Jewish Home and Care Center, the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin, or a charity of your choice.
