Milwaukee Jewish Day School makes leadership changes

Milwaukee Jewish Day School, 6401 N Santa Monica Blvd., has named a new head of school and a new director of innovation, with changes set to take place Jan. 1, 2016.

Sheryl Primakow, senior director, will shift to the head of school positon. Primakow has had two careers with the school. Most recently, she was hired to implement a business plan in spring of 2014. She also served as recruitment and development director for Milwaukee Jewish Day School from 1988 to 1999.

Primakow worked for the Milwaukee Jewish Federation for eight years, serving as their director of planning for six years and as interim executive director from 2012 to 2013. 

Brian King is currently head of school but will switch to a director of innovation position as Milwaukee Jewish Day School ramps up its commitment to innovation. “In that role I will focus on building innovation programs and partnerships, integrating technology into our classrooms, and raising the money to make it all happen,” King wrote in a Dec. 2 letter to stakeholders. “This is my passion.”

The board of directors had promoted King to head of school in 2010.
