MILWAUKEE — Tom Martin, former President & CEO of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin in Green Bay, has been appointed Interim President/CEO of Jewish Family Services, effective Jan. 1, 2016.
Martin will take the place of current JFS President/CEO Sylvan Leabman, who is retiring at the end of December.
Martin retired from Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin in March 2014, after serving the agency as executive director for several years. Under his leadership, the organization grew from seven programs and 89 employees to more than 35 programs and a staff of nearly 400, according to a news release. Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin provides more than 18,000 families throughout Northeast Wisconsin with Counseling/Treatment Services, Early Childhood Development, Crisis Services, At-Risk Youth Programs and Self-Sufficiency Programs. Prior to Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin, Martin served as President/CEO of Boys and Girls Home and Family Service Inc., in Sioux City, Iowa for more than 12 years.
“This is an exciting time for JFS, and I’m happy to offer my guidance and expertise during this time of transition as the agency plans for the future,” Martin said.
The JFS Transition Task Force continues their search for a permanent President/CEO, according to the release.
