The award recognized the bes  t article published in the MBA’s Messenger Magazine in 2014. Frazer’s article, “The Cranberry Brief,” traced the historic roots of Wisconsin’s protective cranberry grower’s law.

He received the award at the association’s annual meeting and luncheon held at the Italian Conference Center in June.

Frazer concentrates his practice in tax, litigation, trust and estates and business law. He is a frequent contributor to the Messenger Magazine, Wisconsin Lawyer and The Fox Point of View.

He chairs the Wisconsin Lawyer editorial board and is a trustee for the Village of Fox Point.

Katz, Stilling to open outdoor gear shop

Milwaukee businessmen Moshe Katz and Marty Stilling are planning to open an outdoor gear store named Yellow Wood.

According to a news report in the May 20 Wauwatosa Now by Jeff Rumage, the store is expected to open Sept. 1 at 401 E. Silver Spring Drive.

Stilling founded Erehwon in 1972 and has been in the outdoor sporting goods industry for about 40 years. He helped found the Erehwon store in the Bayshore Town Center and served as manager for five years.

That is where he met Katz, owner of Atid Properties; Jewish community activist with the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, Milwaukee Jewish Federation and Milwaukee Jewish Day School; and co-chair of the 2015 JCC Maccabi Games.

Katz was a regular Erehwon customer, and he and Stilling are self-described “gear freaks,” according to the article. They decided to start their own store to highlight smaller, independent companies’ production and to emphasize ethics and community activism, according to the article.
