The Jewish Museum Milwaukee has received a merit award from the American Association for State and Local History for its nationally noted “Stitching History from the Holocaust” exhibit.
The association’s Leadership in History awards committee also chose the exhibit for a History in Progress Award. According to a news release, this is “an additional award for an Award of Merit winner whose nomination is highly inspirational, exhibits exceptional scholarship and is exceedingly entrepreneurial in terms of funding, partnership or collaborations, creative problem solving or unusual project design and inclusiveness.”
The awards will be presented at a banquet on Friday, Sept. 18, in Louisville, Ky.
The exhibit will be traveling to the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills, Mich., and will open there in December.
JMM is a program of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
