According to the May issue of the Madison Jewish News, two Madison Jewish Community Day School students and one faculty member won awards in a national Hebrew Poetry Contest.
The contest was sponsored by RAVSAK, a national organization of pluralistic Jewish day schools. More than 500 students from 28 North American day schools participated.
Madison second grader Zohar Lazimy received second place in the elementary school non-native speaker category. Fifth grader Jonathan Greenspan received honorable mention in the same category. Clara Lazimy was awarded first place in the teacher category.
