Hoffert is exec at Madison shul

   David Hoffert has been named the fourth executive director of Temple Beth El, the Reform synagogue in Madison, according to the May issue of the Madison Jewish News. He succeeds Heidi Lauhon.

   According to the announcement, Hoffert grew up in Madison and attended the Beth Israel Center (Madison’s Conservative synagogue), Camp Shalom and the Midrasha Hebrew High School.

   After earning degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Stanford University in mechanical engineering, computer science and public policy, he worked in California.

   In 2012, he returned to Madison to work for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. He most recently served as the hospital policy and rate setting section chief of the Wisconsin Medicaid Program.

   He is married to Aleeza Hoffert who serves as Beth El’s program director.
