The Public Broadcasting Service series “American Masters” will feature the man considered the greatest modern violinist in a documentary titled “Jascha Heifetz: God’s Fiddler.”
Heifetz (1901-1987) was born to a Lithuanian Jewish family. He was a child prodigy who practically since his debut in 1908 has been synonymous with musical virtuosity. He became an American citizen in 1925.
The program will premier nationally on Thursday, April 16, 8 p.m., and Friday, April 17, 9 p.m. Check local PBS listings in Wisconsin for times it can be seen in the state.
