The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation is seeking nominations for the first Robert H. Friebert Social Justice Award.
Inspired by prominent Milwaukee attorney and activist Bob Friebert (see October 2013 Chronicle), the award is intended to further social justice by recognizing individuals who demonstrate courage, passion, dedication and leadership while working to eliminate discrimination and injustice.
Friebert served as the president of the Milwaukee Jewish Council for Community Relations, now the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
The award will be given at the annual meeting of the JCRC to be scheduled. Nominees should be submitted by April 30 to Elana Kahn-Oren, director of the JCRC, at ElanaO@MilwaukeeJewish.org.
