Cultural, health programs coming to Chai Point

          Chai Point Senior Living programs for April begin with Suzi Hanks, docent educator at Milwaukee Art Museum. She returns on Wednesday, April 1, 3 p.m., to discuss the current “Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair” exhibit.

          On Tuesday, April 7, at 3 p.m., poet John Gardiner will visit to read from his book of free verse and prose poems, “Coyote Blues.” Gardiner has published 10 collections of poetry.

          The Alternative Health series continues on Monday, April 13, 1:30 p.m., with the second installment of “Mindfulness” with Susan Lubar Solvang. She will share techniques on how to teach the brain impulse control to help with emotional regulation and focused attention.

          On Thursday, April 16, 3 p.m., Susan Nycz, GCFP, offers a continuation of her Feldenkrais series. Feldenkrais uses gentle movement and directed attention to improve movement and enhance human functioning, which can lead to improved flexibility and coordination.

          James Slauson, professor of art history and humanities at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, will present a lecture on “The Art of the Early Renaissance” on Wednesday, April 15, 3 p.m.

          Howard Tolkan, Milwaukee attorney, community volunteer and Jewish music aficionado, presents The Music of Leonard Bernstein on Tuesday, April 21, at 3 p.m.

          Educator and musician Rick Aaron presents A Trip to Argentina on Thursday, April 23, 1:30 p.m.

          All programs and performances are free unless otherwise noted. Free parking is also available under the building at 1414 N. Prospect Ave.
