Rabbi Wes Kalmar of Milwaukee synagogue Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah has recently completed a 12-session online continuing rabbinic education course in “Addressing Child Abuse.”
The course was run through the Yeshiva University Center for the Jewish Future and its Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and the Gunderson National Child Protection Agency.
The course included sessions on “The Dynamics of Child Sexual Abuse,” “The Impact of Child Sexual Abuse on Spirituality,” “Developing and Implementing Child Protection Policies and Safety Training in Shuls and Schools” “Online Safety” and “Jewish Thought on Abuse.”
