JCC receives grant for artists’ laboratory

The Covenant Foundation on Jan. 7 announced that it would give $115,000 to the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center for one year to support the JCC’s Midwestern Artists’ Laboratory Network and help it expand into three new cities.

The network, according to the foundation’s news release, “is a channel for selected artists to explore and interpret Jewish themes in their works and to engage the public through their art.”

The New York City-based foundation’s mission is to celebrate and support excellence and innovation in Jewish education, according to its website. The grant to the JCC was one of numerous grants totaling $1.6 million.
