JCC presents staged reading of classic play

          The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center will present two staged readings of the classic Clifford Odets play “Awake and Sing” (1935) on Thursday, Jan. 22, 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 25, 2 p.m.

          The play examines the challenges and aspirations of an impoverished Jewish family during the Great Depression.

          The readings will take place at the JCC, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd. Admission is $8, $6 for JCC members.
