Dina Pilnik explored the small balloons on one of the big balloons at the “Exploring Hannukah” event at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center on Dec. 21. The event was sponsored by 18 Milwaukee area Jewish community organizations. Activities included a magic show by Lenny Kass, drumming by One Drum and a candle-lighting by Rabbi Shari Shamah, the JCC’s Jewish family specialist. Dina is the daughter of Orlee Hauser, professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and Shay Pilnik, director of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center.
