Simone Schweber has been appointed the new director of the Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, according to the September issue of the Madison Jewish News.
Schweber has been Goodman Professor of Education and Jewish Studies at UW since 1999. She has taught courses on social studies methods and done research on religion and public education; and taught courses on the Holocaust and on American Jewish identity.
She has also written with Debbie Findling a book “Teaching the Holocaust” (2007), a guidebook for teachers and administrators of Jewish schools.
