French art with music is the pièce de résistance during “Vive la France” Week, July 6-12, at Chai Point Senior Living. On Tuesday, July 8, 1:30 p.m., Cindy Davis, owner of French Poodle Floral Design, will teach the art of creating European hand bouquets and centerpieces.
The French Trio will perform at the Rubenstein Pavilion on Wednesday, July 9, 7 p.m.
Jim Slauson, professor of art history and humanities at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, will discuss “Art of the French Revolution” on Thursday, July 10, 3 p.m.
On Thursday, July 17, 3 p.m., Suzi Hanks, docent educator at the Milwaukee Art Museum, will discuss the current Wassily Kandinsky exhibit. The retrospective exhibition celebrates Kandinsky (Russian, 1866-1944), one of the key figures in modern art.
Naomi Cobb, naturalist-in-residence, will present a program about the Lynden Sculpture Gardens on Wednesday, July 23, 3 p.m.
Susan Leviton Arts presents “Songs of Spiritual Yearning” on Friday, July 25, 1:30 p.m. Leviton is actively reviving the art of women’s a cappella singing, and the lecture/recital format is her platform in many communities, school settings, and cultural and religious events.
