Madison shul moves for remodeling

Beth Israel Center, the Conservative congregation in Madison, is holding services in other locations while its building is being remodeled.

According to an article by Doug Erickson in the Feb. 23 Wisconsin State Journal, the $5.5 million project will reconfigure the inside of the building and improve the outside traffic flow.

The synagogue announced in the May issue of the Madison Jewish News that it will be holding Shabbat morning and Shavuot morning services at Temple Beth El, Madison’s Reform congregation.

The synagogue also said that plans call for the congregation, which has about 250 membership units, to return to the building by Rosh HaShanah this year.
