Jonah Wagan, 25, was recently named assistant director of the Steve & Shari Sadek Family Camp Interlaken JCC, the overnight resident camp in Eagle River, Wis., of the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
Wagan started attending Interlaken as a camper at about age 7. His father, Howard, would eventually serve as camp director.
Wagan attended the University of Minnesota where he received a double B.A. in art and Judaic studies and a master’s degree in art education. He spent a summer as a unit leader at Interlaken.
He was then hired as an experiential educator at Gann Academy, a Jewish high school in the Boston area where he worked for two years.
He returned to Milwaukee last November where he assisted the JCC aquatics department as a lifeguard, coordinator and teacher, before accepting the Interlaken position in January.
