Former Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle editor Andrew Muchin is the interim executive director of the 29th annual Jewish Music Festival that took place March 20-30 in the San Francisco Bay area.
According to a report posted on the website jweekly.com, Muchin “began organizing this year’s festival after longtime director Ellie Shapiro took a leave of absence to study in Poland.”
In addition, the festival was scheduled to conclude on March 30 with Madison composer-pianist-author Ben Sidran presenting a concert plus talk based on his book “There Was a Fire: Jews, Music and the American Dream.” (See Chronicle issues of April 2012 and April 2013.)
