Freelander of URJ featured at 2014 MCRC Shabbat

          This year’s Metropolitan Council of Reform Congregations Shabbat will feature Rabbi Daniel Hillel Freelander, senior vice president of the Union for Reform Judaism.

          The event will be held Friday, March 21, 7:30 p.m., at Congregation Shalom, 7630 N. Santa Monica Blvd. The community is invited.

          Freelander has been a member of the URJ staff since 1975 and has served many functions, including executive editor of Reform Judaism magazine. He currently supervises URJ administrative and financial operations and is an advisor for the movement’s camping and Israel travel programs. He has also been editor of the movement’s new prayer book.
