Rabbi Shlomo Levin has asked that his contract not be renewed at Lake Park Synagogue, according to an email sent to members and to The Chronicle.

“This is so that I can pursue other career directions and professional opportunities,” he wrote in the email received by The Chronicle on Jan. 30.

A Chicago native, Levin has served LPS since 2003. According to the article about his arrival in the Sept. 26, 2003, Chronicle, he has rabbinical ordination from Yeshivat HaMivtar in Israel and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Bar-Ilan University.

In the email, Levin wrote that he and his wife, Noa, plan to continue living in Milwaukee.
