Paul Barland of West Bend died Oct. 12 of congestive heart failure. He was 90.
He was born in Mason City, Iowa, and came to Milwaukee in 1956. He owned a grocery store on N. 35th St. in Milwaukee, and worked in that business for more than 35 years.
He was a member of Temple Menorah.
He is survived by his wife Jean Barland; daughters Robin (Wayne) Leiberg and Lori (Kevin) Tank; son David (the late Patricia) Barland; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer officiated at the funeral on Oct. 15. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.

Edith Kohler, nee Marz, of Milwaukee died Sept. 30 of heart failure. She was 94.
She was a Milwaukee native. She was a member of Congregation Shalom and the Morris R. Guten Auxiliary No. 487 of the Jewish War Veterans.
According to her family, she was an avid reader and enjoyed playing mahjong, canasta, bridge, bowling and golf.
Her husband, Jacob Jay Kohler, died in 2000. She is survived by nieces Judy (David) Kaiser and Sandy (the late Phillip) Berman; nephew Skip (Nancy Williams) Pivar; and great-nephew Randy (Allyson) Kaiser.
Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the funeral on Oct. 3. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.
Milwaukeean Edward LeVine died Nov. 1 of complications of old age. He was 88.
He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1942 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1946 with a degree in political science.
He was an insurance agent and owner of The LeVine Agency in Mequon. He was also a police commissioner for the village of Fox Point since 1980 and a trustee for the UW School of Veterinary Medicine.
His special interests included photography, gardening, flying, jam-making and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Lois (nee Grodin); daughters Susan (Kevin Mackey) LeVine, Sherry (Ron) Zander, and Robin LeVine; and two grandchildren.

Sylvia Luber, nee Bornstein, of Fox Point died Nov. 11 of natural causes. She was 103.
Her husband, Abe Luber, died in 2000. She is survived by children Sari Luber, Rita (Alan) Marcuvitz and Charles (Donna) Luber; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
