Ethical wills article cites community folks

Rabbi Steven Adams of Congregation Emanu-El of Waukesha, his wife Gail and their daughter Rachel were featured in an article about ethical wills that appeared in the Sept. 12 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The article by Annysa Johnson described the centuries-old Jewish practice of creating such written statements of values to pass as a legacy to offspring or others.

The article also cited Shorewood writer Leah Dobkin, who has helped others draft such documents; Eric Weiner, a Mequon marriage and family therapist and author of “Words from the Heart: A Practical Guide to Writing an Ethical Will”; and educator-singer-songwriter Marge Eiseman, who created an ethical will song.
