Rachel Forman, executive director of Grand Avenue Club, is featured in an article in the summer 2013 edition of SSA, the magazine of the School of Social Service Administration of the University of Chicago.
The club was the winner of the 2012 Distinctive Innovation in Social Services Award at the school. The club also received the Field Agency of the Year Award at the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare in May 2013.
Former Wisconsinite Sarah Corris Riskin in June joined the labor and employment group staff of the Minneapolis law firm Nilan Johnson Lewis.
She is originally from Fox Point, previously worked for BBYO and was an active member of the Milwaukee Jewish community prior to moving to Minneapolis in 2005.
Riskin attended the University of Minnesota Law School, receiving Order of the Coif and graduating with honors. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in social welfare.
Joseph C. Sectzer of Northwestern Mutual of Mequon recently earned the Chartered Advisor for Senior Living® professional designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
Candidates for this designation must complete a minimum of five courses and 10 hours of supervised examination. They must also fulfill stringent experience and ethics requirements.
The program is considered the most comprehensive curriculum available for financial advisors interested in serving the unique financial needs of seniors.
Sectzer also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® and Chartered Financial Consultant® designations from The American College.
He has served on the board of the Milwaukee Area Jewish Committee. Currently he chairs the Jewish Latin America Associates at the Special Collections Unit of the Golda Meir Library at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
