Chronicle editor wins first prize Rockower Award

Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle editor Leon Cohen won a first prize in the 2012 Simon Rockower Awards for Excellence in Jewish Journalism.

He was awarded the prize for Excellence in Single Commentary, Division B: Newspapers 14,999 Circulation and Under. The article was his Editor’s Desk column, “We want to be inclusive, but you must want to be included,” that appeared in the November 2012 issue.

This makes two first prize and three second prize Rockower awards that Cohen has won for his work at The Chronicle.

The award was presented at the convention, held in Seattle, Wash., June 25-26, of the American Jewish Press Association, which organizes and runs the annual Rockower competition.
