Ramie S. Hochman

          Ramie S. Hochman of Milwaukee died April 9. He was 91.

          He was a Milwaukee native who graduated from Washington High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota.

          He was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim.

          Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rabbi Levi Emmer officiated at the funeral on April 12. Burial was in Agudas Achim Cemetery.

          Memorial contributions are suggested to the Jewish Home and Care Center or the Milwaukee Jewish Day School.

 
Jeffrey J. Kaplan

          Jeffrey Jay Kaplan of Milwaukee died May 19 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital of complications of liver disease. He was 66.

          He was a Milwaukee native who graduated from Washington High School in 1965. He attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science at the latter.

          He worked in the field of information technology until he retired, according to his brother, Ross Kaplan.

          In addition to his brother, he is survived by his wife Laura B. Kaplan (nee Sosin); son Steven Kaplan of New Jersey; and sister Shelly Maiman.

          Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. A graveside service was held May 20 at Second Home Cemetery.

 
Brian W. Levin

          Brian W. Levin of Glendale died May 22. He was 69.

          A Milwaukee native, he graduated from Shorewood High School in 1961 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He worked as a mail processor for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 47 years, according to his family.

          He was a member of the American Postal Workers Union. He enjoyed dining out and road trips around the country, according to his family.

          He is survived by his wife, Rita E. Levin (nee Weinper); children Ronald, Heather D. and Michael Levin; sisters Myra (Kelcey Ham) Levin and Effie (Warren) Toney; and sister-in-law Barbara Weinper.

          Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rabbi Akiva Freilich officiated at the funeral on May 24. Burial was in Second Home Cemetery.

          The family suggests memorial contributions to the Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.

 
Ann Lieberman

          Ann Lieberman (nee Benner) of Milwaukee died May 30. She was 103.

          She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Lieberman. She is survived by son Stanley (Nancy) Lieberman, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

          Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. A private graveside service was held at Agudas Achim Cemetery on June 2.

          The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

 
Harvey Malofsky

          Harvey Malofsky of Madison died April 23 from complications of treatment for cancer. He was 82.

          He was a Milwaukee native who graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1953. He worked as a builder for Continental Construction.

          He was a member of Temple Beth El in Madison, a chair of Madison’s Israel Bonds organization and a founding member of Madison’s Jewish Social Services (now the Jewish Federation of Madison).

          He served on the boards of Tandem Press and of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. He was a member of the Madison Sports Car Club.

          He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rona (nee Cohen); children Lyn Malofsky of Milwaukee, Michael (Sara) Malofsky of Verona, Janna (Dave) Papermaster of Milwaukee, and Ann (Bill Shaw) Malofsky of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

          Cress Funeral and Cremation Service handled arrangements. Larry Kohn officiated at the funeral on April 26. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.

          The family suggests memorial donations to Temple Beth El, JFM or the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Carbon Cancer Center.

 
Rhoda Markey

          Milwaukeean Rhoda Markey (nee Cohen) died May 9 of natural causes. She was 85.

          She was a Milwaukee native who graduated from Shorewood High School in 1946. She worked as a waitress for the Gimbels department store. According to her family, she enjoyed gardening and art.

          She was predeceased by her husband, attorney Alexander Markey, who died in 1982, and by sons Douglas and Theodore Markey. She is survived by children Patricia (David) Biel and Robert (Wynne) Markey; sister Grace (Stan) Block; and two grandchildren.

          Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. Rabbi Marc Berkson officiated at the funeral on May 13. Burial was in Wood National Cemetery.

          The family suggests memorial contributions to Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, Congregation Shalom, the Jewish Home and Care Center, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

 
Delores Schlossmann

          Delores Schlossmann, nee Schulner, of Fox Point died May 29. She was 84.

          She was born in Milwaukee and graduated from Washington High School in 1946. She was a member of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue and Congregation Sinai.

          She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Schlossmann; sons Bradley (Holly) Schlossmann and Mike (Ellen) Schlossmann; sister Edith (Dr. Sidney) Kohler; and five grandchildren.

          Blane Goodman Funeral Service handled arrangements. Rabbi David Cohen officiated at graveside services at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodel Cemetery on May 31.
