On Monday, June 17, 7 p.m., the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center will offer a free film class about the Israeli documentary film “Dolphin Boy” (2011).
It tells about an Arab teen from northern Israel who is taken to a specialized treatment center in Eilat after being severely beaten by Arab classmates in 2006. The boy healed physically, but remained verbally and emotionally non-responsive until receiving treatment with dolphins, where he also formed a friendship with a Jewish girl.
Psychologist Dr. Pnina Goldfarb will lead the discussion. The film is in Hebrew with English subtitles and is suitable for ages 12 and up.
