The National Council of Jewish Women-Milwaukee Section will honor its 2013 award recipients and install its 2013-15 board of directors on Thursday, April 25, 7:30 p.m. at Lucille’s Piano Bar, 1110 N. Old World Third St.
The group will give to Hannah Rosenthal, president and chief executive officer of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Barbara Stein Building Bridges Award.
This award was created by the Milwaukee Section in 1996 to honor the special achievements of persons who demonstrate exceptional talent and dedication in building meaningful linkages between different agencies, organizations, and people.
Margie Margolies, vice-president of the Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) for NCJW, will receive the Hannah G. Soloman Award, a national NCJW award presented to an individual who has changed the lives of others through her leadership and service.
Lauren Odesky will receive the Emerging Leader Award. This national NCJW award is presented to a NCJW member who has shown potential for assuming future section leadership, understands and supports the NCJW purpose and programs, and has served as a board member or on a committee for less than five years. Lauren will be the section’s junior co-president for the 2013-15 board term.
The cost is $60 per person and includes appetizers, dinner, drinks, and entertainment. NCJW is also collecting plastic jars of peanut butter to donate to The Hunger Task Force.
