Internationally renowned singer-guitarist Gerard Edery performed “Treasures of World Song” as part of the Norman and Louis Miller Lecture in Public Understanding on March 7 at St. Norbert College in De Pere.
Casablanca-native Edery is both a scion of and an expert in Sephardic Jewish Ladino culture. He has made 15 recordings and edited a book of Sephardic Jewish songs.
According to his website, Edery also participated in an ecumenical service and led a workshop on “What Makes It Sephardic?” at the college.
