Women of Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun hosted the American Field Service Students on Friday, Feb. 8, to celebrate Shabbat and welcome friends from around the world. A traditional Shabbat eve dinner hosted by more than 25 Emanu-El familes for more than 40 AFS students preceded the service. This 55th AFS Shabbat and dinner continues a long tradition at the synagogue. Rabbi Marc Berkson answered students’ questions about faith, holidays, and ritual objects.
