Israeli election is theme of two events

The emissaries from Israel to Milwaukee — Michal Makov-Peled and Ro’ee Peled — will provide “A Guide to Israel’s Electoral System” on Tuesday, Jan. 8, noon, at the Helfaer Community Service Building, 1360 N. Prospect Ave.

The program is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and reservations are required. Participants should bring their own lunches; beverages will be provided. The event is sponsored by the Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s Israel Center. Register online at www.milwaukeejewish.org or call 414-390-5724.

On the day of the election — Tuesday, Jan. 22 — the community is invited to celebrate and watch the results on a big screen at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., from noon to 6 p.m.

Informational sessions at 12:15, 2, 4, and 5:30 p.m. will offer insider perspectives on the election. Israel food prepared by CAFA B DATA will be available.

This event is co-sponsored by the JCC and the Israel Center. For more information, call 414-390-5715 or email roeep@milwaukeejewish.org.
