Community members who participated in the movement to free Soviet Jews are asked to share their memories and reflections to mark the 25th anniversary of “Freedom Sunday,” the march that took place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 6, 1987. (See Editor’s Desk column, page 4.)
More than 450 Wisconsinites participated in the march, which drew more than 250,000. It was the culminating event of a generation-long struggle to grant freedom to the Jews of the Soviet Union.
