Catholic-Jewish Conference to hold forum on activism

Catholics and Jews agree that one avenue to justice is involvement in public life, yet both traditions recognize that people of faith may disagree on what constitutes justice or how we as individuals and communities should pursue just ends.

To explore such issues, the Catholic-Jewish Conference of Milwaukee will present a forum on “Engaging in Public Life: Catholic and Jewish Perspectives” on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m., at the Kliebhan Conference Center of Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Rd.

This session will explore the principles in Judaism and Catholicism that provide a faith-based foundation for our participation in the public sphere while respecting legitimate diversity and encouraging civil debate.

Presenters will be Rabbi Noah Chertkoff, associate rabbi of Congregation Shalom, and Kim Wadas, associate director for education and health care of the Wisconsin Catholic Conference.

Admission is free. For more information and to RSVP, call 414-390-5781 or email johng@milwaukeejewish.org.
