The Milwaukee Jewish Federation will officially introduce to the Milwaukee Jewish community its new Chief Executive Officer/President Hannah Rosenthal at a “Celebration of Community” event.
This event will take place Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd.
The celebration will begin with a reception at 6:45 p.m., featuring light refreshments; and will continue with a program at 7:30 p.m. The program will include:
• A revisiting of the Jewish Community Summit and Reimagining Process, one year later.
• A kick-off of the 2013 Campaign for the Community.
• Election of new officers and board, and thanks to those who have served.
The event will mark the end of the three-year term of MJF Board Chair Jerry Benjamin; and Marlene Lauwasser will move into that position.
Rosenthal will begin her term as MJF CEO/President in mid-October. She currently serves as Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism with the U.S. State Department.
She is an internationally known figure who has served the Jewish and general communities in a variety of important roles. See the special front and back pages of this issue for more information about her.
The Celebration of Community is chaired by Judy Guten and Sarah Hwang. The event is free. RSVP by calling 414-390-5700 or online at www.milwaukeejewish.org.
