The Milwaukee office of the Development Corporation for Israel-Israel Bonds will honor three generations of the Komisar family at its 37th annual tribute dinner on Thursday, June 28, 5 p.m.
The event will take place at the Pfister Hotel, 424 E. Wisconsin Ave.
According to Amy K. Lang, the registered representative at the Milwaukee office, this is the first time that local Israel Bonds has honored an entire family.
All of the Komisars work in the family’s BILTRITE Furniture store, founded in Milwaukee by Claire Komisar’s father, Irwin Kerns, and his son-in-law, Sol Forman, in 1928, and now located in Greenfield.
All family members have invested in Israel Bonds personally and through the business, and have been active in that organization and in many other Jewish community causes, including the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the Jewish National Fund, and BBYO.
The keynote speaker at the event will be Terry Katz, a member of Israel Bonds’ national women’s division board, and national chair of the JNF’s women’s campaign for Israel.
The chairs of the dinner are Dr. Scott Arbit, Debra and Moshe Katz, Becky and Bill Komisar, Cindy and Mark Levy, Judy and Brian Parrish, and Sharon and Mark Shapiro.
