‘Jewish Memory and Nostalgia’ is Greenfield Institute topic

The 13th Greenfield Summer Institute of the Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is open for registration.

This year’s topic will be “Jewish Memory and Nostalgia.” Participants will hear UW-Madison faculty members and other Jewish studies scholars discuss such topics as how memory works, nostalgia and memory in Jewish culture through history and in the formation of Jewish identity in Israel and the Diaspora, among other topics.

The institute also will show films and offer opportunities for socializing, exploring Madison, and enjoying the UW campus, including a concert by Madison klezmer band Yid Vicious at the Memorial Union.
