The Milwaukee Jewish Day School will hold a spring fundraising event, called “Living Green, Giving Green,” on Thursday, March 22, 6:30 p.m., at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
The featured speaker will be Rabbi Moishe Steigmann, a member of MJDS’s first graduating class in 1990. He will become the school’s director of Jewish life and learning and its school rabbi beginning this summer.
Steigmann also graduated from Nicolet High School, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Jewish Theological Seminary, where he received his ordination. He served a congregation in New York before returning to MJDS.
The event will include an auction that will raise funds for the school and for J-Help, the Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s emergency assistance fund. The program will be a culmination of a school-wide tzedakah project to raise funds for J-Help.
