The Jewish National Fund-Wisconsin Region will hold its annual Green Sunday Phone-a-Thon on Sunday, March 18, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Co-chairs Rusti and Dr. Steven Moffic are seeking volunteers to make calls into the community. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded.
Proceeds from Green Sunday will primarily go to help JNF build an additional 40 reservoirs over the next few years to help Israel battle an increasing shortage of water.
Israel is facing its most severe water shortage in nearly a century. Eight consecutive years of drought have deprived its natural water sources of sufficient replenishment, while a growing population and rising standard of living have led to a sharp increase in consumption.
