JFS program to deliver kosher meals

Beginning this month, Jewish Family Services of Milwaukee will offer its Kosher Mobile Meals program. This strives to provide “a safe, convenient way for individuals to make eating healthy, delicious kosher meals part of their lifestyle,” according to a release.

A wide variety of hot meal selections can be delivered two days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Frozen meal options are still available. A sliding fee scale is available to those who qualify.

Meals are cooked under dietary supervision at the Jewish Home and Care Center and delivered to homebound individuals. The program serves older adults, persons with disabilities, people in area hospitals, and individuals wanting a kosher meal.

The program is operated under the joint auspices of JFS, Aurora Health Care, the Jewish Home and Care Center, Va’ad HaKashrus of Milwaukee. Grants from Mazon and individuals provide subsidy for this program.
