Middle East analyst and former Jerusalem Posteditor Carl Schrag will speak on “Palestinians, Israelis, and the United Nations: The Path to Peace,” on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 7 p.m. at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
This month, Palestinian Authority leaders plan to seek United Nations recognition of a unilaterally declared Palestinian state, instead of entering negotiations with Israel. This initiative has potential to be an historic event and to further isolate Israel in the international community.
The purpose of the Sept. 7 event is to convene the Milwaukee Jewish community and provide it with an in-depth view of this action and its possible consequences.
The event is co-sponsored by the Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council, Israel Center, and Young Leadership Division; and the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.
