Jewish Museum to present shofar-making workshop

The Jewish Museum Milwaukee will present a shofar-making workshop on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2:30 p.m., at the museum, 1360 N. Prospect Ave.

Under the direction of Rabbi Shmaya Shmotkin, the workshop will recreate the art of crafting a ram’s horn into a shofar, a simple instrument that is a focal point on Rosh HaShanah, the Jewish New Year. Participants will create a shofar that they can take home for their holiday celebrations.

The workshop is free for museum members; $5 for non-members. RSVP to Ellie Gettinger, 414-390-5742 or ellieg@milwaukeejewish.org.
