Professors honored at St. Norbert

Two faculty members at St. Norbert College in De Pere, both members of Congregation Cnesses Israel in Green Bay, have received recognition.

Robert Kramer, associate professor of history, received the Donald B. King Distinguished Scholar Award for his recently published book “Holy City on the Nile: Omdurman During the Mahdiyya, 1885-1898.” He teaches classes on Africa and the Middle East, including on the Arab-Israel conflict.

Victoria Tashjian was recently promoted to full professor of history at the college, where she has taught African history since 1994. She is the third woman in the school’s history to be named full professor.
