Marjorie Turner

Milwaukeean Marjorie Turner, nee Plotkin, died June 14 of pneumonia. She was 95.

She graduated from West Division High School in 1933 and worked as a salesperson for The Grand department store. At age 75, she volunteered at the arts and crafts department of Alexian Village and worked there for several years, according to her family.

She was a member of Congregation Shalom, Hadassah, Women’s American ORT, and the women’s auxiliary of the Jewish War Veterans. According to her family, she was “an excellent cook and baker,” and enjoyed mahjong, cards, and bingo.

Her husband, Milton Turner, died in 1987. She is survived by sons Jack (Barbara) Turner and Alan (Diana) Turner, both of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law Ruth (Albert) Beder and Mayta Schnoll, both of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Goodman-Bensman Whitefish Bay Funeral Home handled arrangements. Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiated at the funeral on June 15. Burial was in Mound Zion Cemetery.
