A daughter, Maya Ruth, was born Dec. 9 to Laurie and Ira Frydman of Washington, D.C.
The maternal grandparents are Debbie and Mickey Karlinsky of Maraga, Calif. Marla and Steven Frydman of Mequon are the paternal grandparents. The maternal great-grandfather is Harry Scheff of Chicago.
The baby is named in memory of her maternal great-grandmother, Ruth Scheff.
